Join me Friday, April 8 at The Bricks of Ybor for "Hip to be Square." Kick-Start My Art has curated a huge list of artists who each created a 12x12" piece for the show that runs through mid-May. Plus, if you get there early enough the food at The Bricks is unique, inexpensive and tasty - their kitchen closes at 8pm to make way for the reception and party.

I'll be exhibiting a new painting that I finished with the help of my very talented and beautiful girlfriend Lisa Leone titled 52nd & Broadway.

San Francisco transient art gallery and publishing house Spoke Art is hosting an exhibit that pays tribute to three amazing film directors. The show features a huge list of talented paint and print artists who have all created works inspired by films such as Reservoir Dogs, Fargo, Inglorious Bastards and more.

I'll be showing a painting of a character I've grown familiar with, Chigurh.

I am proud and honored to have been awarded 2nd place for my piece View Before The Tunnel by juror Neil Bender, Associate Professor of Painting and Drawing at USF.

I've been drawing, cutting-out, and sticking-up strange celebrities portraits all over North America for the last year. I decided a couple months ago to call them Strange Face. Javier Bardem ala No Country for Old Men is one of the more prevalent faces, and I painted his portrait on a small block of wood and plan on hanging this in a tree somewhere to scare little kids:

A sketch from two nights ago. Also, last Friday night I threw each of my two art bottles from the Skatepark of Tampa show into the Hillsborough River in downtown Tampa. Each art bottle was sealed with a geo-morphic lino-block print inside. At this point I'm wondering whether any Gasprarilla boaters found the bottles, or whether they're floating out of Tampa Bay and toward Cuba.

Tomorrow night the Skate Park of Tampa will host the second annual 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall and Welcome to Tampa art party. The event kicks off anniversary weekend for SPOT and welcomes folks to the Tampa AM presented by Nike SB.

The 99 Bottles show is a collection of beer bottles painted and crafted by dozens of artists from the world of skateboarding. Each bottle is auctioned off with proceeds benefiting SPOT's Boards-for-Bro's charity. Here are a couple of photos of the bottles I've created. . .
